1-54 New York is Back for it's 10th Edition, the Largest Ever

The 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair has announced the date for the return of the 10th edition of 1-54 New York, its largest edition to date. The fair is scheduled to take place from May 1-4, 2024, displaying the multitude of golden art talents from the African continent and its diaspora.

This year, 1-54 New York will be held at the heart of Manhattan, settling in the iconic Starrett-Lehigh Building at 255 11th Avenue. This historic structure has long served as a central hub for both professional and cultural activities in the Chelsea neighbourhood, positioning the fair amidst the city's thriving art scene.

Visitors can look forward to an exceptional lineup of over 30 exhibitors, presenting the work of more than 70 artists. The fair will kick off with a VIP preview on Wednesday, May 1, followed by public and VIP opening hours on Thursday, May 2, and Friday and Saturday, May 3-4.

Among the exhibitors set to participate are renowned galleries such as 193 Gallery (Paris), 50 GOLBORNE (London), AFIKARIS (Paris), Berman Contemporary (Johannesburg), and many more. These esteemed institutions will showcase a remarkable array of contemporary African art, spanning various mediums and artistic expressions.
