London-based art advisor and curator, Kami Gahiga will join leading art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora, 1-54, as Head of Galleries and VIP Relations. In her role, Gahiga will offer art advisory services to clients affiliated with the company while overseeing the galleries participating at each fair.
With three editions per year, in London, New York, and Marrakech, and a pop-up fair in Paris, the fair, 1-54, draws reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent.
Gahiga is the recipient of a First Distinction Art Business Master’s degree from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, and a regular contributor to art publications, market reports, and talks for auction houses, galleries, and institutions.
