O'DA Art Gallery set to open major Two-Part Solo show with Multi-Disciplinary Artist, Alimi Adewale

Eternal Forms: Exploring the Intersection of Earth and Humanity

July 15–August 19, 2023 | Lagos, Nigeria

O'DA Art Gallery announces, Eternal Forms, the artist’s first solo exhibition in Nigeria for seven years, which will open in two-locations across the city– O'DA Art Gallery & Mercedes Benz Showroom.

The body of work presented in this exhibition weaves together the enigmatic tapestry of cave paintings, women portraits, and sculptures, offering a multidimensional exploration of our connection to the past, the essence of femininity, and the enduring power of art.

The sculptures acts as a three-dimensional embodiment of these themes, bridging the gap between the two-dimensional cave paintings and the intimate portrayal of women in portraits. The sculptures in this body of work capture the essence of Mother Nature herself, bringing to life the ancient concepts of femininity and our inseparable bond with the Earth. They are a tangible representation of the reverence and awe that our ancestors held for the natural world.

Through this cohesive body of work, the artist invites us to reflect upon our timeless connection to the Earth, the transformative power of femininity, and the universal language of art. It is a celebration of the mysteries of the past, an exploration of the present, and an invitation to embrace our responsibility as stewards of our planet.
