The Eighth edition of the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize is positioned to be a landmark celebration of modern craftsmanship. This year, a distinguished panel of experts sifted through over 4,600 submissions from artisans around the world to select 30 exceptional works. These pieces, each a one-off expression of excellence, innovation, and artistic vision, form a curated shortlist that reflects the peculiarity of contemporary craft.

A jury of 13 leading figures from the fields of design, architecture, journalism, criticism, and museum curatorship will then choose the overall winner of the Craft Prize 2025 from the shortlist of finalists. The coveted prize comes with a cash award of €50,000, with the winner to be announced in Spring 2025.

The LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize exhibition will be hosted at the prestigious Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid from May 30 to June 29, 2025, displaying the shortlisted works. Launched in 2016 by the LOEWE Foundation and conceived by LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, the Craft Prize was created to honour excellence, artistic merit, and innovative reinterpretation in modern craftsmanship. Over the years, it has transformed lives and careers while building a global community of artisans.
Among the 30 finalists, representing 18 countries and regions, many have reimagined ancient techniques for contemporary expression—transforming traditional basketry into sculptural clay forms, reworking loom-based weaving into dynamic metal constructions, and reinterpreting time-honoured motifs in bold, new ways.
