The MTN x UJ New Contemporaries Award provides a unique opportunity for young curators in South Africa to gain exposure, mentorship and vital experience over several months. The goal is to support the arts sector by incorporating digital solutions and the integration of ICT for teaching and learning, through strategic partnerships like that with the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Art Gallery.

Rewards
The participants would gain exposure and vital experience over several months. As part of the awards programme, the nominated curator will select and collaborate with four artists in curating an exhibition.
