The call for submissions to the 2025 National Arts Festival Curated Programme South Africa is now open, running for seven weeks from August 5 to September 16, 2024.
Artists and producers are invited to submit proposals for works to be considered for inclusion in the festival's curated program. Applications can be submitted via an online form on the festival's website.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to present their works in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) between June 26 and July 6, 2025.
The deadline for submissions is September 16, 2024, at midnight South African Standard Time (SAST).
It's worth noting that this call is specifically for the Curated Programme. A separate call for the festival's Fringe program will open later, running from October 1 to November 25, 2024.
The National Arts Festival, in partnership with Standard Bank South Africa, will also be awarding the Standard Bank Young Artist Awards to exceptional South African artists under 35 years old. Nominations for these awards can be submitted here until August 18, 2024.
