Yemisi Shyllon Museum Names New Advisory Board Chairman

The Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art (YSMA) has announced the appointment of Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman as the new Chairman of its Advisory Board.

 Sulaiman, an eminent business leader and passionate art collector, succeeds Kola Aina, the museum's pioneer chairman. His tenure will commence on January 20, 2025.


Under Kola Aina’s leadership, the YSMA achieved global acclaim, including the coveted Museum Opening of the Year 2020 award by Apollo Magazine. As the museum transitions into its next phase, Adedotun Sulaiman's extensive corporate governance expertise and dedication to the arts are expected to elevate the institution's vision of cultural preservation and innovation.

I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and confident that Adedotun Sulaiman’s exceptional leadership and commitment to the arts will propel the museum to new frontiers." Kola Aina said while reflection on his tenure.

Sulaiman, who chairs several prominent boards including Cadbury Nigeria Plc and ABSA Group, expressed his excitement for the new role:


"The Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art stands as an important institution for preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage and artistic excellence. I am honored to take on this role and look forward to working with the board and museum team to further its mission and impact."

With Sulaiman at the helm, the museum aims to deepen its impact through groundbreaking exhibitions, educational programs, and community engagement initiatives.
